Boba 4G Baby Carrier Review and Giveaway
Boba has recently released their new 4G baby carrier and I am so excited that I was able to receive one to. I have used and reviewed several different makes, models, brands, colors and styles of baby carriers. To be quite honest I kinda have a passion for trying out new baby carriers. As a mom of four kids (and hopefully more) babywearing has become a very important part of my parenting. Not only do I wear baby to keep my hands free to help my other kids with homework, playing, cooking and cleaning. I also enjoy wearing baby while nursing. I have been fortunate enough to be able to nurse all four of my babies well into toddlerhood. With that said I have discovered that there are times that my babies need to nurse while we are out as a a family grocery shopping, playing at the park, out on a walk or even at the zoo. Finding a comfortable baby carrier to wear while performing all of these task is essential. Even more so, finding a baby carrier that can accommodate a baby from birth to toddler while maintaining that comfort and reliability is probably the most important feature to look for in a baby carrier.
“The 4G carrier is intended for children that weigh 7-45 lbs and it fits adults who are 5’0″-6’3″ in height. Because this carrier works for such a wide weight range, this is really intended to be the only carrier you will need to purchase for your child.” PREACH IT! No seriously coming from a mom who has had several kids and has tried several different baby carriers the Boba 4G is definitely a cream of the crop pick!
The Boba 4G is designed to accommodate the 3 stages of baby wearing. Stage I comes with an integrated infant insert geared and ready to go for even the tiniest little baby weighting 7-14 lbs. This means straight home from the hospital you can start using the Boba with your precious new bundle. In Stage I you can only wear baby on your front side and with the easy to remove integrated infant insert.
Stage II is designed for that next stage of baby. Not quite toddler sized and not an “infant” anymore. In other words, Stage II is perfect for babies 5-12 months. You simply remove the infant insert and can wear baby either on your front or back side.
Stage III is designed for toddlers. I have had SEVERAL different baby carriers designed for toddlers and let me tell you it is really hard to find one that is comfortable for both mom (or dad) and baby. What makes the Boba 4G unique to other baby carriers is the new ergonomic foot straps. These straps are designed to keep your toddlers feet for dangling down and kicking you in the rump while wearing them on your back. Even better I found that while my toddler had his feet in these straps it distributed the weight even better making it more comfortable for wearing him on my back.
The Boba 4G also comes with several other fabulous features, like storage compartments, diaper bag clips, and strap storage elastic. If you are a smaller sized person like me, you can easy fold extra straps and tuck them into the elastic. The storage compartments are quite convenient for holding your smaller important items that you would normally carrier in your purse. For instance, I like to grab my licence, debit card and keys and keep them on me at all times. You can also easily fit a disposable diaper, keys, a phone, and a pacifier if you need. If you are someone who likes to be prepared and still carry a diaper bag, the diaper bag strap is awesome and will keep your bag from slipping off your shoulder.
There is also a sleeping hood that is now thinner and has longer snap straps to use in a cross-over configuration for newborns. This is fantastic for giving baby a peaceful “dark” place to fall asleep. However my favorite purpose for the sleeping hood is as a sun shield to protect my sweet babies eyes. If you don’t want to use the hood no worries…it easily attaches and detaches with three snaps.
The Boba 4G Baby Carrier comes in several wonderful colors and fun designs. I chose the PINE made from 100% organic cotton, with a vibrant green swirl pattern framed with dark brown. I both loved the colors as well as that the organic cotton is free from harmful chemicals or dyes. After wearing my Boba for a month or so now I can tell you that I highly recommend the Boba 4G and give it two thumbs up!
