Purple Purse Program – Speak out against Domestic Violence!

It’s so sad to hear that domestic violence affects one in four women.  The Allstate Foundation has responded to these astounding statistics and created the Purple Purse program. This foundation now serves as a national symbol for against domestic and financial abuse. As well as to raise awareness and get people to openly talk about this important issue.

Many woman are too scared or intimidated to speak out about their domestic and financial abuse circumstances. The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is making it fashionable to talk about and find help. The program ignites fundraising for more than 140 national, state and local domestic violence organizations. 

Actress Kerry Washington has forged forward lending her voice and becoming an ambassador for the cause. She has designed a limited-edition purple purse, to help raise awareness. The Allstate Foundation has also contributed by producing 80,000 purse tassels to attach to your purse as a continual sign of support. Each tassel has a removable card featuring a survivor story designed to inspire.
