Hickory Farms Family Traditions and Giveaway!
Growing up in a family of foodies, cooks and chefs – food has always been a huge part of our holiday traditions! I can remember from the earliest of years having a Christmas Eve gathering with friends and family, eating snacks, fellowshipping and then going to a Christmas Eve church service. As a little girl my favorite part of the evening was all the tasty snacks. (I know how silly -but it’s the truth!).
My favorite tasty delicacy was the Hickory Farms Summer Sausage, crackers and cheese! I would sneak over to the table spread and pretty much eat it all up before anybody else got a chance. HeHe I was such a sneak – but hey it was so good!
I am pretty sure it is memories and family traditions like mine that has allowed Hickory Farms to bring family and friends together for more than 60 years. Many Americans like me have a distinct memory of Hickory Farms at their holiday gatherings; Hickory Farms is very proud to be a part of those nostalgic moments and continues to focus on and celebrate its long heritage of tradition and authentic holiday memories. Not only embraces passing down traditions through generations of families, but also creating new traditions and sharing them with loved ones.

We used to all gather at my grandmothers house the day after Thanksgiving and decorate the huge fir tree in her front yard. We would have hot apple cider and cookies and a lot of fun and fellowship. I miss it a lot.

When I was younger my family and I would always go to the graveyard across the street from where I lived and would ask those who were burried there if we could cut some holly for our yulelog. We would also always cook Thanksgiving dinner together. Everyone had their part. I would be in charge of setting the table until I got older, then I helped cook. 🙂

We always opened presents Christmas Eve as that’s the day of my grandma’s birthday. It was just me, my mom, and grandma when I was growing up so it was a special evening.
