UPS #WishesDelivered – Share your wishes for others to support charities!

Over the years I have noticed the holidays have become more and more commercial. It really makes me sad. I have always tried to teach my kids the true reasons for the holidays, so they do not get caught up in the “I wants” “I needs”. This is why I am so happy to share with you what UPS is doing and inviting other to participate in for the holidays. They are asking all of us to share our holiday wishes for OTHERS, using the hashtag #WishesDelivered on your social media channels. When you comment with your wish for others using #WishesDelivered  they willl donate $1 for EVERY WISH shared on Twitter and/or Instagram, up to $100,000! How awesome is that! What a blessing and awesome example to others! 

Since I am going to ask ALL of you to participate in this awesome charity event. I am going to first share with you my wish. Let me first start by saying that I grew up in a broken family. I lived primarily with my mom and we were very poor. For several years the only holiday presents I received were from those who donated to the Salvation Army or from the Angel Tree’s. Even as a young girl I knew the gifts I was receiving were a blessing from another family and was always so thankful. As I grew up and got married my husband and I went through some tough times and for a few years we were blessed by Toys for Tots with holiday gifts for our children. 

Since couponing I have always given back to Toys for Tots! I love to include my kids in this giving each year. We have a blast shopping for a few toys to donate each year. I have even been able to use my gift of couponing to be able to purchase up to $1000 in toys to donate during previous years. This year as a family we are not only going to continue our tradition of donating to Toys for Tots but we are going to add in a local charity that is dear to our hearts as well. My wish is for KidsTLC (TLC’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment homes are designed to serve children (6-18) who are in JJA or SRS custody or private placement and need intensive/collaborative clinical, psychiatric, and medical services.) and that they will receive ALL of the donations requested in order to provide the wants and needs of all of the sweet children they have currently in their care.
