Coffee Filter Juice Box Turkeys

The past several months I have been insanely sick with my pregnancy. I have been trying to balance being a mom of 5, pregnant, excruciatingly sick and homeschooling all of my kids to boot. As hard as it has been these past several months, am so thankful for the time I have had with my kids these past several months.

Now that our sweet baby Aesyn is here I have so much more energy for my other little kids. So today I got to spend some one on one time with my two little boys making Coffee Filter Juice Box Turkeys. They loved this craft. It was so easy, perfect for both my boys Kyron (8 years old) and Rowyn (3 years old), plus they are so excited to use them as decor for our Thanksgiving dinner next week!

Now lets get to the fun stuff…how to make these super cute juice box turkeys! First off, you will need Juicy Juice boxes, construction paper, coffee filters, washable markers, glue (and possibly tape), and googly eyes. Once you have all of your supplies together, this craft only takes about 5 minutes to construct.

1. Measure your juice boxes and cut brown construction paper to the height needed to wrap around.
2. Cut a red piece of construction paper in the shape of a gobbler, and the orange construction paper into a small triangle for the beak.
3. Glue or tape your brown paper around the juice box.
4. Glue googly eyes, gobbler and beak onto the front of the juice box turkey.
5. Using washable markers, color coffee filters.
6. Place your coffee filter either in a ziploc bag or on a paper plate to spray with water and allow the marker to “bleed” and create a tie dye type effect on the coffee filter.
7. Set the colored wet coffee filters aside on a paper towel to dry.
8. Once the coffee filters are dry, glue them to the back of your juice box to create your turkeys unique colorful tail.
9. EXTRA: Be creative! Add on a hat, tie, extra tail pieces, glasses…whatever you want to make your turkey a little extra fun and unique!
