SpashMath Fun Math Practice for grades 1-5 product review

My kids LOVE math…both my 4th grade daughter and my 2nd grade son are always coming home from school and asking for me to give them extrqa homework or challenge them in math! I love their enthusiasm but sometimes I just don’t have the time or energy to THINK of all those math questions for them! SplashMath has been our LIFESAVER! Seriously it is amazing!

Splash Math is a website where parents of elementary school children (grades 1-5) can register for
an account. It’s filled with fun math activities to encourage children’s math abilities. Using the Common Core Curriculum standards, Splash Math helps to instill and reinforce the mathematical skills children need to succeed.

As an ex-elementary school teacher I seem to be kind of picky about the math programs I have my children use online. I also seem to find it difficult many times to find math programs that actually “challenge” my kids. That is what I love so much about SplashMath…they seem really cover all the basis. My children are able to choose the grade in which they practice math and what types of lessons they perform. Even better I get to go back online whenever I want and check up on them…see how they did…what they struggled on…and if they are progressing through the large array of math lessons available.

Another benefit to SplashMath is that I can have 2 children enrolled in the same program! With that said I am very excited that my two oldest children are getting to experience SplashMath. However I am a little sad that my youngest daughter doesn’t get to join in (as they only allow 2 kids per account). I also found that some of the lessons directions were a little confusing (for my daughter in 4th grade) but once we figured out what she was supposed to do…she did great!

I also love how my children can use SplashMath wherever they are! We have used it mostly on our home PC and laptop…however we are about to go on a long family trip for the holidays, and I am planning on bringing our iPad for my kids to practice math and stay entertained!
