Boycott shopping on Thanksgiving Day! Are you with me?
The more I think about what has been progressively happening over the years on Thanksgiving the sadder my heart. I have ALWAYS been a major Black Friday shopper…the fun, the savings, the thrill….but over the past couple of years I have noticed stores have been starting their door buster deals earlier and earlier in the evening on Thanksgiving Day. I am someone who wants to save the max amount of money to stretch my Christmas budget! In fact I am such a huge saver and Black Friday veteran I even filmed an episode of Extreme Couponing Black Friday (4 months pregnant and suffering from severe nausea). But this year is going to be different.
I feel I can no longer entertain the craziness of the retailers this year. My family is far more important than getting a good deal. With that said I have decided I am on a mission to BOYCOTT shopping on Thanksgiving Day this 2013! I am sure that my little boycott will not make a difference in the whole scheme of things…however I am hoping and praying there are enough other people out there who feel the same way as me and will stand with me to make a point! TAKE BLACK FRIDAY BACK TO FRIDAY…WHERE IT BELONGS! (It’s not called Black Thursday…it’s Thanksgiving…a day to be thankful!)
Now just because I am boycotting shopping on Thanksgiving Day doesn’t mean I am not going to indulgent in the fun and excitement of shopping on the actual Black Friday (so I am sure I will be out and shopping right at midnight)! Also because I know I will be missing out on many door buster deals…and if you join me you may miss out on some deals as well…I am on a mission to find as many AMAZING deals that are as good or better than those on Thursdays Black Friday doorbusters.
If you would like me to help you find the best deals…please comment with what’s on your shopping list and I will start hunting the deals for you as well!!!

Well, there ya go! People have been boycotting stores that open on Thanksgiving for years now but they’ve been doing it because they don’t think it’s fair that the employees should be forced to work on the holiday. Obviously, it hasn’t worked. You, on the other hand, want to boycott those stores because you don’t want to shop on Thanksgiving – you want to spend the day with YOUR family – and you want them to hold their deals until you’re ready to shop. How self-centered can you get?! You’re right. I don’t think your little boycott will make much difference in the grand scheme of things.
