Homemade Mozzarella Sticks Recipe
Ingredients
- Mozzarella cheese sticks (8-10 sticks)
- 1/3 cup Flour
- 1-2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- Vegetable Oil (I love coconut oil)
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Pre-heat oil to 300-350 degrees in a pot. I use enough oil to make about 1 1/2 inches deep in pan.
- Mix flour with a pinch of salt and pepper together in one bowl.
- In a separate bowl combine Italian breadcrumbs and garlic salt together.
- In a third bowl beat your egg well.
- Dip cheese stick into flour mixture then into egg then into breadcrumb mix. If the breading seems too thin re-dip into egg mixture and back into breading.
- Carefully place your coated cheese stick into oil and let cook until lightly browned.
- When done place on paper towel or napkin to remove excess oil.
- Dip into your favorite marinara (or make your own) eat and enjoy! Beware the cheese is EXTREMELY hot so make sure to allow to cool a little before indulging.
