Homemade All Natural Lip Balm (Strawberry Cream Frosting)
I have found a new love – making my own all natural homemade lip balm! Use see I have always disliked how over the counter lip glosses, balms and chapsticks all have alcohol and ingredients known to dry out your lips. Since coconut oil has amazing qualities I wasn’t surprised when I learned that it makes the perfect base for lip balms.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
- 1 -3 Tablespoons Strawberry Gelatin Mix
- 3-4 Cream Cheese Frosting Essential Oils
Supplies
- Spoon
- Microwave safe bowl
- lip balm container
Directions
In a microwave safe bowl scoop the coconut oil and set microwave to 30 seconds. Once coconut oil is fully melted add essential oil fragrance and desired amount of strawberry gelatin. The strawberry gelatin will serve multi-purposes. First as your tint to your lip gloss. The more gelatin you add the more vibrant your tint. Next, it will add a fun sweet smell to your tinted lip gloss and lastly, it will give your lip balm a nice flavor.
*** You can alter this recipe in a few different ways if you would like to change the color of tint. The first option is to use a different flavor of gelatin that could provide you a different color of tint (example: grape, raspberry, orange or a combination). Another option is so use a small slice of a current lipstick color you like. Cut a small amount off the lipstick and melt it into your coconut oil.
