How to Get Beautiful Holiday Photo’s on a Budget
I have never been one for paying for professional photo’s. They always seem so posed and honestly they are just too expensive for my budget. So here is what I have discovered you don’t need to pay a professional. Simply invest in beautiful quality clothing, a good camera and find a great location that is already decorated for you.
- Beautiful Holiday Outfits: There are of course several places you can choose to purchase your holiday clothing from, however I will tell you my most favorite online boutique – Chasing Fireflies. All four of my kids are sporting their fabulous clothing, shoes and accessories. Honestly the quality of clothing is far superior to any mall store. Plus what you will get from Chasing Fireflies will be unique, designer and guaranteed to be a custom look for your holiday photo’s.
- Use a Good Camera: I have a Canon EOS Rebel T2i DSLR Camera and a speed flash. This set really gets the job done. I have used my Canon EOS camera for several years and love it. It really is not too complicated to use and takes absolutely amazing photographs.
- Find a Great Location: This can be way easier then you would think. During the holidays there are so many places beautifully decorated for Christmas. Simply find a location that is convenient for you and start snapping away! We went to a fun event at our Church all dressed up in our Holiday Outfits from Chasing Fireflies so this was the location for our family pictures this year. I will admit the lighting wasn’t amazing (my fault) but to be honest my kids just looked so beautiful I decided to not re-shoot their photo’s.
Now just in case you want to get your hands on the same outfits my kiddo’s were able to model for this post here are their looks:

Love the coordination of the dresses and how they go so well together without matching.

It is really hard to get photos indoors. I always try to take mine outside even if it is freezing so i can get lots of natural light. Even next to a window is great!
