How To Organize and Get a Fresh Look in Your Home on a Budget
This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% my own.
Spring is nearly here, which means I am itchy to do some Spring Cleaning, organizing and updating the look throughout my house. Cleaning and organizing doesn’t have to be boring. Spice it up by adding a few “new” fun organizational pieces to your house, that multipurpose as both home decor and organization.
To start I like to go through each room in my house and purge unneeded items. I purge in three separate piles throw away items, give/donate and sell-able items. Sometimes I will also create a forth pile for items I plan to re-purpose. Once these piles have been established for each room the real fun can begin!
First, feel the amazing release of throwing that junk away in the dumpster! Throwing away stuff that has been collecting dust or creating clutter always makes me feel so good!
Next, gather all of your give away and donate stuff. Figure out where you want it to go and get it out of the house ASAP.
Finally for the fun part, organizing, re-purposing, updating and maybe even a little shopping! I like to head over to my local Dollar Tree to pick up a few organizational bins. Then it’s off to the local thrift store, garage sales and/or my favorite place to find great priced treasures Close5.
If you are not familiar with Close5, you are going to love it! Close5 is a buy/sell app where you can purchase and/or sell items in your local area. What I love about Close5 is you can ask questions to the seller, make offers and more all right there easy through the app. I was able to post a few items I no longer wanted for sell and then turn around and purchase a couple organizational pieces to spruce up my Spring Cleaning design.
Whenever I am organizing and trying to reclaim a space for a purpose I like to grab a few shoe box sized plastic storage bins from the local Dollar Tree or Amazon, some cute functional baskets from a local thrift store (garage sale or Close5) and then depending on the space a “new” fresh piece of furniture to give the space an updated exciting look.
I found this really neat red corner shelf on Close5 and am currently repainting it to use in our kids playroom. It will be perfect for utilizing that corner space and giving the kids a functional shelf to put their trinkets away on.
