Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Wagon – DIY Mario Kart!

I love my new Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Wagon! It’s seriously amazing! With it’s two molded seats for kids to sit comfortably and two cup holders for holding their drinks – my kids will be spoiled in this wagon! Plus we got it just in time to decorate it for Halloween! We turned it into a Mario Kart to go along with our Mario Bro’s themed Trick or Treating extravaganza!

Since my kids were all Mario Bro’s characters, we decided to turn our Little Tikes Wagon into a Mario Kart for my little guy to ride in while trick or treating.

To accomplish this look I used cardboard to make the “hood” in the front of the Mario Kart. I painted it white and then made black squares with my Silhouette machine to create a racing checkers look and to create the “M” Mario symbol. For the back of the kart I made the piece that goes over top of the cart with cardboard, paint, Silhouette vinyl and a rod I had laying around my house. Oh and LOTS of duct tape! Oh boy it was so much fun playing around with this design. Honestly the pictures do not do it justice! It turned out super adorable!

On the very back of the Mario Kart Little Tikes Wagon, I created a “license plate” out of cardboard, chalkboard paint and more duct tape. Attached to the back “license plate” piece I created two black mufflers to make the look complete. The only thing I wasn’t able to do that I REALLY wanted was to hang 3 balloons off the back of the Mario Kart (like in the game).

If you are looking for a wagon perfect for toting your little ones around – I highly recommend this Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Wagon. It is nice and large, sturdy and easy to use. It was fantastic for Halloween! We had no issues at all going up and down the sidewalks, slanted curves and even through grass. I was amazed by how sturdy it was while going through such rough terrain. Not only is it extremely sturdy but it is super easy to pull and maneuver – even my little guy was able to pull it filled with coats, blankets and candy on the way back to the car, when trick or treating was done. 🙂
