Lotus Bum Cloth Diaper Review
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I recently was given the opportunity to review Lotus Bum cloth diapers. I personally use disposable diapers…but have very seriously considered to switching to cloth diapers (in fact it is my husband who is more opposed to it). To be totally honest the biggest reason I haven’t tried cloth diapering yet is because with couponing I can often times coupon diapers down to sooooo cheap. However I grew up in clothe diapers and have several friends who use them as well. There are several amazing benefits to using cloth diapers, so I thought that this review would be great for me to better understand cloth diapers and if they would work for me.
My first impression: The diaper is one size fits all, so it can be used from newborn to toddler. There are 3 rows of snaps to accommodate different sizes of babies. My son is 19 months old however he only weights 14 lbs (he is about the size of a 6 month old baby). It includes a hip snap to help better fit the babies exact size (and thus preventing leaks). The waist tabs can overlap for those extra small baby waists, and then has several straps going outward to fit an older toddler. The inside is made from really soft thick fleece. The diaper also came with a 3 layer microfiber insert for better absorption.
I really loved how stinking cute Kyron’s little bum looks in the clothe diaper (this fact alone almost wins me completely to switching over to cloth diapers). Another benefit is the total convenience of simply washing and re-using the diaper…no late night diaper runs or stressing over finding the best coupons for diapers. But even more exciting I noticed that my son who typically gets really bad diaper rashes…didn’t have any diaper rash while trying out the Lotus Bum cloth diaper!!! And on top of all those personal benefits when you use cloth diapers you get the benefit of knowing you are helping the environment and not contributing to landfill waste!
In all I am pretty impressed with the Lotus Bum cloth diaper and am hoping with just a little more convincing I can talk my hubby into going cloth with Kyron (and hopefully with any future babies we may have)!!!
