Mom Tip: How to Run, Jump and Sneeze Without Peeing
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Depend. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
As many of you know, I am a mom of four, as well as a full time gymnastics coach. When you combine those two together – you are asking for trouble. Well bladder troubles that is. I love being a mom, but it is the 7 pregnancies I have had that have contributed to my need to cross my legs when I sneeze and worry when I jump or run.
It is an ongoing joke in our gym that if I cough, sneeze or even yell loud, the girls will make some sort of comment like “do you have to go to the bathroom now?” or “you didn’t pee yourself did you?” (Not that I ever have before in practice, they just get a kick out of my crossing my legs constantly). The worse is when I want to demonstrate something or condition with the girls. Oh man – then the worrying is legit!
That’s why I am so glad that Depend has come up with an awesome option for me. No not diapers! Or big bulky pads! Comfortable, underwear that have build in absorbency, so I can wear them with my workout pants and not feel weighed down. Their new Silhouette Active briefs are disposable underwear that I can wear while working out and coaching without anyone else knowing. They are not big and bulky, but light weight and smooth under my clothes. But the best part is that if I want to jump on the trampoline with the girls, or run during their conditioning I can do so without worry! WOW – what a relief!
I know that my story may be slightly unique in the fact that you may not be a gymnastics coach. However, I know for a fact that my problem is not unique at all! Over 51 million American women experience bladder leakage. That’s 1 in 3 American women. There are many common causes of bladder leakage in women including pregnancy, childbirth and even diabetes. This means that when you are in a group of women the chances are you are not alone in this struggle! That is why the Depend brand is encouraging people to show their support for women with bladder leakage with their fun #Underwareness campaign. For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million, through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.
So whether you are looking for a daily solution to a bladder leakage problem, or a occasional aid when trying to exercise and perform daily activities, the Depend Silhouette Active Briefs may be able to give you the same relief from worry as they did me! Additionally there are a few things you can do for yourself to help control bladder leakage. Check out this article on 5 Tips For Living with Bladder Leakage (and Staying Active)! Now go, be active, run, jump, sneeze – worry free! Sport those pretty beige and/or black Depend briefs and live worry free like me!
