Shark Steam and Spray Mop Review: It’s a game changer!

I am going to be totally honest with you…I hate to mop! It’s not the actual action of mopping I dislike…it’s just nasty to me. I have tried  so many different mops and all of them make me just feel like I am spreading germs and nastiness around the floor. So instead I usually resort to crawling around the floors on my hands and knees and cleaning them by hand.

The Shark Steam & Spray has changed my life! It is not just a mop…it’s super-heated steam combined with the non-toxic cleaner not only gets my floors cleaned but the super hot steam sterilizes at the same time! With 4 kids and 4 cats and an OCD husband all in the house I was starting to get really overwhelmed with the constant need to scrub the floors. I get so grossed out that my baby is crawling and cruising around the house where dirty feet and cats have been. We vacuum DAILY but the hard surface floors were just so hard to keep clean and sterilized (without breaking my knees daily). Especially in the bathrooms. Every time my toddler follows me into the bathroom I freak out. It’s just so dirty to me. I mean we go to the potty in there (and lets face it my older son isn’t the best aim) plus we have our litter boxes in the bathrooms. But now with the Shark Steam & Spray I can relax a little, and know that my floors have at least been steam cleaned, eliminating a majority of the germs. It’s seriously so easy to use I find myself using it pretty much daily!

You  do need to use easy to attach pads to clean your floors. However for the first time ever, with this new model of  the Shark Steam and Spray you can choose which type of cleaning pad you would like to use: disposable or washable! I have used both and actually like them both. I think I might be slightly more partial to the washable pad, as it is cheaper in the long run to use.

Another awesome feature of the Steam & Spray is that it is battery-operated within the Spray Only mode. This allows the mop to go cordless for smaller messes that don’t require the steam for sanitation. I like this feature for those smaller spills or quick clean ups. Especially in the kitchen after doing a cooking project with the kids.

There is a small amount of assembly required when you first take your new mop out of the box. The mop comes in two pieces; the mop head and body and then the handle. Just insert the handle into the mop body, pop in a few batteries, fill the compartment with water, and click in the Steam Energized Cleanser (the first bottle comes with the product) and then start steaming those floors.
