STRIDER Balance Bike Review: Teach your kids the art of riding a bike with confidence!

If you are a parent of a toddler or young child you will appreciate this amazing product I am about to share with you! As a mom of four kids I have now trained 2 of the 4 how to ride their bike without training wheels, and let me tell you the process was not fun! It was in fact painful for both them and me! I can’t tell you how many times I got my ankles all scraped up by the pedals as I pushed my kids on their bikes trying to teach them the art of balancing. Now if I could go back in time I would buy each of my kids a balance bike and save my ankles and my kids knees.

That is why I was so excited to review this STRIDER balance bike.  I have two kids right now that want to keep up with their big sis and big bro…neither of which can ride a bike without training wheels. My oldest daughter is 6 years old and even though she understands the concept of pedaling she is far from an expert balancer.  Kyron my youngest son is only 22 months but he being the youngest of four is just dying to ride a bike like his big siblings.

(My son is VERY small…he is 22 months old, 16 lbs and 27 inches tall. My hubby is helping him get on for the first time…he did great!)

The STRIDER weighing only 6.7 pounds is easy and light for young kids to maneuver (even my 21 month old). It builds confidence and eliminates fear by allowing kids to have their feet on the ground and progress at their own pace. This unique design teaches young children how to balance on two wheels from the very beginning, thus avoiding typical delays with tricycles and training-wheel bikes.

This bike came disassembled. However it was the easiest “bike” to put put together! It comes with just a few parts that need to be snapped into place and no need for additional tools. It literally took 5 minutes to put together (while watching 6 kids playing outside)!

Now that the bike is build my kids finally had a chance to give it a try. They used their STRIDER bike for the first time today and already they are getting the hang of it. I cannot yet report how they are “striding” yet…as currently they are still in the phase of learning how to sit on the seat and move their feet. However I can tell you that my nephew had this very same bike and he is an amazing expert “strider”! I seem to remember it taking him about 2-3 months to really get the hang of cruising on his STRIDER bike. But unlike my kids who it tooksmonths (and with my son it took over a year) to learn how to transition from training wheels to a big kid bike…my nephew was able to use his STRIDER bike from his 2nd birthday until he was about  31/2 and then he went straight to a pedaling bike without any effort at all!!!

A few things I absolutely LOVE about the Strider bike is that there are no-pedals to scratch up my kids (or my) ankles. It is free of cables, chains and sprockets that can harm your child. And ULTIMATELY the Strider bike allows your child to learn how to balance and maneuver their bike safely while giving them the confidence to operate their bike appropriately.

Benefits to a STRIDER Balance Bike:

  • Free of cables, chains, sprockets, and pedals that can harm your child.
  • Teaches the ultimate skill of how to BALANCE on a bike!
  • Easy to use and builds your child’s confidence.
  • Light and easy for young children 18+ months to use.
  • Easily adjustable handle bar and seats.

There are several different colors of STRIDER Bikes to choose from…Check out STRIDER Bikes at striderbikes.com to purchase or go HERE and purchase with free shipping on Amazon.

I highly recommend the STRIDER Balance Bike and give it two thumbs up and the momma approved seal! 🙂 🙂 🙂
