DIY Homemade Decongestant Shower Tabs
Cold and flu season is upon us and in this house that means MONTHS of sniffles and coughs. As a family of six we seems to pass colds around like wildfire. One of our favorite ways to relieve congestion has always been through Vicks vapor rub and decongestant tabs. But lets face it with 6 of us sick throughout the winter it gets expensive. Thank GOD I discovered this amazing recipe for DIY Homemade Decongestant Shower Tabs. Not only do they work AMAZINGLY but they are only a fraction of the cost!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 Cups Baking Soda
- 1/4 cup Water
- 10 Drops Eucalyptus Oil
- 10 Drops Peppermint Oil
- 5 Drops Rosemary Oil
- 5 Drops Lavender Oil
DIRECTIONS
Add Baking Soda and essential oils to a bowl. Add water to mixture 1 tablespoon at a time. Continue to add water 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture is a thick paste.
Pour Baking Soda mixture into a silicone cupcake mold or pour into mini cupcake molds inside cupcake liners. Let sit out over night 6-8 hours. To mold more quickly bake in the oven for 20 minutes on 360 degrees.
To use simply place one decongestant tab to the bottom of your shower. Let the hot water slowly dissolve tab creating a soothing aromatherapy that is sure to help relieve congestion.
