DIY Rustic Autumn Leaf Lanterns

Autumn Leaf Lanterns

Here is an easy craft project perfect for adding a little fun Fall decor to your home. All it takes is a little Mod Podge, silk leaves, mason jars, tea lights and some twine/rafia/ribbon to finish the look! You can find all of the supplies needed for this craft at the Dollar Store for less than $5 total! Now how awesome is that?!?! Cheap, fun, easy and fabulous!

First paint on Mod Podge onto the Mason jar. Adhere each leaf to the jar one at a time and finish with more Mod Podge painted over top each leaf, as to accomplish a more natural look. Don’t try to make the leaves look perfect. Allow gaps and overlapping, to achieve a more rustic look.

Once the Mod Podge and leaves have finished drying. Complete the look with some rafia or ribbon tied around the neck of the jar. These jars look good when they are not lit, but they really achieve their best look when it is a little dim in the room and they are lit up with a candle (or flameless candle).  I personally like to put scented Apple Cinnamon tea candles in my jars so that I get a little extra “Fall” fragrance with my decor! 🙂
