Snipe Hunt the perfect indoor/outdoor game for “kids” of all ages! (Review)

snipe hunt

Snipe Hunt is a new game from an old tradition of story telling and Sniping Hunting, created by Education Outdoors. I myself had never heard of a “snipe hunt” until receiving this review…however throughout the process of this review I have learned that “snipe hunting”  was a tradition experienced by many girl and boy scouts!

The game comes in a box marked “LIVE ANIMALS” which right off the bat caught my kids attention. You will also find the story behind the legendary campfire animals on the outside packaging. Inside the game includes a nest and 2 Snipes (named Biela and Smartin). Each of the Snipes uses 2 AA batteries (included in purchase).

There is a twist to this fruitless quest, Snipe Hunt can be used as both an indoor or outdoor game of hide-and-seek where players try to be the first to find their opponent’s Snipe and return it to its nest. To play, the teams choose an area that will be the Snipe nest and two areas to hide their Snipes. Switch the button to the ON position and then each team runs off to hide their Snipe. The Snipe will start off quite (for 5 minutes) while you search for it…but if it doesn’t get found quickly, the Snipe will start to chirp, gradually getting louder with lights flashing in the creatures eyes. Once both Snipes are hidden, the hunt begins! The first team to return their opponents Snipe to the nest is the winner.

The best part about this game is it’s easy to play with just 2 people or even better with a large group of kids! Snipe Hunt is perfect for kids ages 2-100…seriously this game is a blast for kids and adults alike!  We are planning on playing ours this week when we will be gathering for the holidays and have over 20 kids in one house! This game should keep the kids (and many of the adults) busy for a while. 🙂

For more information on the game, including rules go HERE. The Snipe Hunt game retails for $24.99 and can be purchased over at www.educationoutdoors.net, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, several other retailers nationwide.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
