Easy Recipe: Mississippi Pot Roast Crockpot Recipe

mississippi pot roast label

This Mississippi Pot Roast is AMAZING! It’s name should be the “Best Pot Roast EVER”! There are just five ingredients, making this recipe incredibly simple and sure to get two thumbs up from everyone in the family! Serve with a side salad, mash potato and/or veggies and enjoy! 🙂

Ingredients:

  • Chuck Roast (whatever the cheapest roast is will work)
  • 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet of dry McCormick’s au jus gravy mix
  • 1 stick of butter  (you can use less if you need to but I recommend at least 5 TBSP)
  • 5-6 Peperonicini’s

***You do not have to use name brand seasoning packets, however I personally prefer their flavor. If you are sensitive to salt you may also want to get the low sodium packets if those are available.

Directions:

  1. Place the uncooked roast in the crockpot. (No need to pre-sear or brown)
  2. Cover roast with the Hidden Valley dry ranch seasoning mix and au jus mix on top.
  3. Place a stick of butter and 5-6 Peperoncini’s on top of the roast.
  4. Cook in a crockpot on low for 8 hours (or 5 hours on high)
  5. Shred and serve!

I have actually started making some alterations to this recipe now. To give it a little extra “healthy kick” to it – add carrots, potatoes and celery for the last hour!
