Semi Homemade Apple Cider Donuts Recipe

So I had an idea this morning…I wanted to make my kids a special little treat for breakfast and I remembered they LOVED the apple cider donuts at the pumpkin patch last year. I figured I would test out a semi homemade apple cider donuts recipe I’ve been contemplating for a few weeks.

Only takes about 5 minutes!

Let’s just start by saying they only took about 5 minutes TOTAL to make and they were completely devoured in about 3 minutes!!! My husband and kids absolutely loved them! They asked me if I could make them every weekend through the holidays. HAHA they wish!

The best part about this recipe is that it takes zero prep and literally no baking skills. All you will need is just 5 ingredients and a frying pan.

Getting Started…

To start with you will simply need a tube of refrigerated biscuit dough, vegetable oil, hot apple cider mix, cinnamon and sugar. You will also want a large deep sided frying pan.

Next heat up the vegetable oil on medium-high heat. Carefully, place the donut holes in the hot oil to cook first. They will only need about 30 seconds on each side, so you’ll want to move fast. After the donut holes have all been cooked and rolled in the cinnamon, sugar and apple cider mixture, you can begin frying your actual donuts. These too will cook super fast only about 45 seconds on each side.

Finally, immediately after removing donuts from the hot oil using tongs, place the hot donut in the cinnamon, sugar and apple cider mixture until fully coated and enjoy. These donuts definitely taste best when hot. However, you can store them for about 12 hours, I recommend eating them while they are hot and fresh.
