DIY Fall “GIVE THANKS” Banner
I have recently become obsessed with DIY banners for my home! They are so easy, tons of fun to create and make my house look so adorably festive! There are so many different phrases, styles and looks you can do when creating a banner. The options are truly limitless!
To make this banner I used a Burlap Scrapbooking Paper by DCWV. This burlap paper made cutting, designing, and painting very easy and sturdy. I have made banners with burlap in the past, however I greatly prefer this DCWV burlap cardstock paper!
To write the words “GIVE THANKS” I used stencil and black paint. However if you have great freehand you could skip the stencil. With a hole punch add two holes to each banner piece and thread twine through holes (I chose orange twine to give a little extra color to the banner). Space the banner pieces about 3-4 inches apart and hang.
To give this banner a complete “Fall” look I used silk leafs I purchased from Oriental Trading Company. With a pair of scissors I cut a tiny hole in the leaf and then thread the twine through. Super easy…no sewing or glue needed!
For the pinecones, there are two options. I personally didn’t want to mess with glue at all, so I simply thread the twine through the bottom of each pinecone until it was securely attached. You could also use hot glue to attach the pinecones if you would prefer.
