Festive Fall Harvest Mix

I love making fun, creative treats for my kids. Something yummy, yet festive to help make the turn of Fall a little more exciting! Fall is one of my favorite seasons, not only because it’s my birthday season, but because I love all of the fun Fall decorations, foods, treats, layering clothes…the whole lot!

Candy corn is one of my favorite seasonal treats, so of course I had to think of a unique way to incorporate them into an after school treat for my kids. I started the idea of this Festive Fall Harvest Mix with wanting to incorporate a few of mine and my kids favorite snacks. Candy corn was my contribution, the little boys love pretzels, we all love homemade kettle corn and then I figured I’d add in a few extra sweet treats to make this mix a little extra fun!

We almost always have M&M’s in the house for potty training treats, plus chocolate candies and pretzels combined are one of my favorite sweet and salty combos. We had some left over brownies, from my 13 year old sons recent baking project, so naturally brownies had to go in as well!

Lastly, I wanted to add an extra “kick” to this mix, so a little drizzle of caramel and chocolate was perfect! I simply put all of the ingredients (except the caramel and chocolate) in a bowl and mixed it up well. Once I served up each kid with their own bowl I topped it with a drizzle of caramel and chocolate sauce.

Boy oh boy…did my kids love this! It was the perfect little surprise for them once they got home from school. I will definitely make this Festive Fall Harvest Trail Mix again for my kids classroom Halloween parties!
