Easy Snow Ice Cream Recipe

There is nothing more exciting then waking up to a beautiful snowy landscape and the kids screaming SNOW DAY! As a mom of 5 kiddos, snow days come with pros and cons. Of course I love having my kids home while we enjoy a snuggly day inside watching the snow as it falls. However, with kids ranging in ages 2-15 years old cabin fever becomes a very real thing.

One thing I have learned through the years is to keep a few things on hand when I know a snow day may be in the horizon. Half and half, a craft project and some hot cocoa mix are just a couple staples.

We use the half and half for both hot chocolate and snow ice cream. The snow ice cream only takes 4 common everyday ingredients. Plus it’s so incredibly easy to make! The thing I do when the snow begins to fall is put out a few bowls out on our back porch to catch the fresh snow as it falls. I typically place them where I know no critters or kids will get into them, as I want the cleanest, freshest snow I can get.

Now once you are ready to make your snow ice cream you will want to work quickly as the snow melts very quickly. To help the snow not melt too fast I typically mix all of the wet ingredients together and then put them in the fridge while I gather the snow.
