Fall is my favorite season for decorating my home. I love transforming my normal everyday decor into fun, festive – fall designs. I found these foam pumpkins from the Dollar Tree and thought I might be able to give them a whole new look. I am really very happy with the way they turned out. With just some cream colored spray paint, burlap ribbon and a stick from my backyard – and a beautiful shabby chic upcycled pumpkin has been accomplished!
- Foam Pumpkin
- Spray Paint (cream or off white)
- Burlap Ribbon
- Stick or twig
Start out with giving the orange foam pumpkin a gentle coating of spray paint. I ended up with about 3 coats to get complete coverage.
Find a stick or branch piece from outside and set it aside. It should be about 4-5 inches long and at least 1 inch in diameter.
Remove the foam stem from the pumpkin and replace it with the “real” stick found outside.
Tie a nice large bow with the burlap ribbon and tie it around the pumpkin “stem”.
